Staff at Gapuma have collected hundreds of books for one of Mumbai’s most socially deprived neighbourhoods.
“Books for Dharavi” is a joint-venture with local charity, Reality Gives and is part of Gapuma’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) commitment.
The books will go to a community and recreational centre in the heart of Dharavi, which featured prominently in Slumdog Millionaire.
Staff at Gapuma plan to extend the scheme to friends and business associates. Shahab Mossavat who visited Dharavi recently, says: “If you have books you no longer read and wish to contribute to this very worthy cause, we would be delighted to take your unwanted books off your hands.”
